About this piece
A brown border frames pale beige and painterly roses. Tonal gradations in the beige lend depth to this gentle, decorative design.
Traditionally woven in the home, these rugs reflect skills passed from mother to daughter. Firm, closely packed weaving gives them a sturdy construction and the individual character of careful handwork. Rich colors and a cheerful design are characteristic of the Shiraz region of southern Iran.
