About this piece
A kilim from the Shiraz region of southern Iran. Geometric and zigzag patterns combine several muted colors in a lively yet adaptable design. Traditionally woven by Qashqai women, its close, firm flatweave is durable and reversible, reflecting its origins in nomadic tent life. A practical rug for daily use. The two sides measure 88 cm and 86 cm, a difference of approximately 2 cm characteristic of handweaving.
Persian kilims are valued around the world for their enduring designs, versatility and artistic geometric patterns. Their appeal lies both in the designs themselves and in weaving techniques refined over generations. These traditional Iranian textiles bring a distinctive handmade character to contemporary interiors.
