This kilim comes from the Shiraz region of southern Iran. Geometric and zigzag motifs give it a lively rhythm, while the mellow colors and natural wool texture sit comfortably in a room. Traditionally woven by Qashqai women, the firm, close weave reflects careful handwork. Its reversible flatweave, practical thickness and durability come from the traditions of nomadic tent life.
