Persian scrolling motifs are said to have reached Japan along the Silk Road. The paisley patterns have a familiar, nostalgic charm that works surprisingly well in many interiors. Made from a single piece of substantial 100% cotton, the cloth is soft, supple and resistant to wrinkling. Use it as a sofa throw, bedspread or curtain-style room divider to bring a different atmosphere to your room.
Ghalamkar Persian textiles are printed by hand using a succession of carved wooden blocks, changing both the block and the color through many repeated impressions. Artisans in Isfahan, Iran, print each cloth individually and twist the fringe by hand. Small variations, light marks or uneven dye impressions are part of this handmade process. More noticeable irregularities are described separately in the product notes.
