Blooming Across Blue Gray,
A Universe of Flowers
A handwoven 100% silk Qom rug from the MOSTAFA workshop.
Flowers radiate from the central medallion across a softly nuanced, composed ground.
Intricate Craftsmanship Bearing the MOSTAFA Signature
MOSTAFA · QOM · IRAN Signed by the workshop; approximately 1,100,000 knots per square meter
This rug was handwoven by the MOSTAFA workshop in Qom. A Persian inscription reading “Iran, Qom, Mostafa” is woven into the upper border, identifying its stated origin and maker.
Approximately 1,100,000 knots per square meter reflect the countless individual silk knots tied by skilled hands. The velvety fabric takes on a deep luster in the light, revealing the character of fine handweaving.
Color and Light
Softly muted blues become paler toward the center of the field. Shades move from deep, night-sky blue to violet blue within a single rug. The delicate sheen of pure silk changes with the light and viewing angle, creating quiet depth.
Design
An elegant central medallion sends flowers radiating outward in every direction. Roses and floral motifs in red, pink, green and ivory are finely woven against blue, with intricate details extending into the corners and borders. The composition rewards a long, close look.
Generous Proportions
At 245 × 242 cm, this large rug is almost square. It anchors a living or dining room with an expansive presence, while its balanced shape works readily with furniture and allows flexible placement.
A Piece to Pass Down
With thoughtful care, this is a rug to enjoy for decades and pass down through generations. Wherever you place it, the beauty and presence of Qom silk become part of everyday life.
Exceptionally fine knotting, a velvet-like surface and the lustrous sheen of silk give this Persian rug an opulent presence. Its craftsmanship can be appreciated as textile art. Silk pile changes markedly with the viewing direction; try turning the rug to enjoy the effect that best suits your room.
