About this piece

Plants rise against pale blue, recalling the sky seen while lying in nature. Flowers and birds, traditionally interpreted as heavenly messengers, enliven the design. A deep brown outer area frames the composition. Signed "Iran, Qom, Samadi."
An exceptionally fine weave and velvety silk pile give this Persian rug a richly lustrous surface. The intricate handwork can be appreciated as textile art. Silk reflects light differently from opposite directions, so turn the rug before choosing its final position to find the effect you prefer.
