刺繍のように細かな文様が全面に施された美しいスマック織りのキリム。赤を基調に様々な色で文様が入った多色使いですが柄が細かいので落ち着きもあります。一目一目の模様をじっくり眺めて味わえるキリムでたいへん上質感があります。スマック織りは裏面に模様の糸を渡してあるので片面使いのキリムになります。右端の長さが197センチ、左端の長さが203センチです。右端の長さが203センチ、左端の長さが193センチです。
スマック織りとは、イランのキリムの織り方の技法です。生地は刺繍のような仕上がりですが、これは後から刺したものではなく、土台の縦糸と横糸の上にもう一本横糸を絡めるように巻き込んで織っていく高度なテクニックで、生地を二重に織るため通常の平織りのキリムより倍の手間ひまが掛かる分高価になりますが、非常に堅固で丈夫、また普通より細かなデザインを描けるという長所がありますので、価格以上の価値を感じて頂けるキリムです。
