2024 Gabbeh & Persian Rug Exhibition

This event has ended. The information below is an archive of the 2024 exhibition. For a current visit, please request a showroom appointment.

Archived event details

  • Dates: 22 March–7 April and 19–29 April 2024
  • Hours: 11:00–18:00, Japan time
  • Venue: Oriental Moon Tsukuba warehouse, 687-1 Kokinu, Tsukubamirai, Ibaraki

This was our first exhibition held by opening our own warehouse to visitors. Guests could see and feel thousands of rugs in person, including Gabbeh, Persian rugs and kilims. Not every item listed online was at the venue, so advance requests were encouraged.

A rug to enjoy for years

Oriental Moon specialises in Iranian handwoven rugs. We help customers find pieces that suit their homes, combining natural texture, practical comfort and the individual character of handwork.

Our manager, Kimura, first encountered an Iranian kilim in 1994. A later visit to Iran’s bazaars inspired the wish to share the beauty and variety of these textiles with customers in Japan. Our close ties to Iran support direct selection, accessible prices and personal advice.

During consultations, we consider your room, preferred colours, intended use and exact dimensions. Past examples include a Gabbeh for a home library, a blue entrance rug, a kilim coordinated with existing living-room rugs, and two Gabbeh fitted to an L-shaped kitchen.
