I Made a Mini Kilim into a Bag / 2007-10-18
No.40
I made a mini kilim into a bag. I wanted to enjoy kilims outdoors as well as at home, so decided to try it. It is a simple tote, made without cutting the kilim at all so that its character is preserved. The space between the kilim and the outer fabric forms a pocket for leaflets or post. I also added a pocket to the lining for keys and other small items.

What a wonderful idea to make a bag while keeping the mini kilim and its fringe intact. The back is neatly lined, and the whole piece is beautifully and carefully made.
