Red Gabbeh with a Mountain Design: We bought this for the children's room. It was attractively priced, and everyone fell in love with the mountain in the centre when we looked at the photographs together. When it arrived, the whole family and our cat sat on it chatting for a long time. The dense wool feels supportive, comfortable and warm. The shop owner suggested, with a photograph, that the mountain might be Damavand in Iran, which made us feel even more attached to it. Our 17-year-old cat now often spends the day relaxing in the sun on its woven mountain. Hoshinamai Luribaft, Cypress and Tree of Life: I was so drawn to the lovely design that I bought this as our second rug. Our ceiling is blue—I call it Samarkand blue—so until the last moment I wondered whether to choose a blue Gabbeh instead. We had a favourite Qom silk rug in front of the red sofa, but after our daughter said it was beautiful yet felt a little cool in winter, we replaced it with the Gabbeh. We now plan to alternate them between summer and winter. Stroking this Luribaft along the pile feels like touching a cashmere blanket: warm and elegant. We bought both a dense, substantial Zollanvari and a soft, supple Hoshinamai Luribaft. Each has its own character, and the whole family loves both. Any Gabbeh that becomes a place where everyone can stretch out, relax and gather together is a wonderful rug. We hope Oriental Moon continues to offer lovely Gabbeh and Persian rugs. We also hope the coronavirus pandemic ends soon and that friendship between Japan and Iran continues into the future. Mountain-design Gabbeh with a cat — Oriental Moon

A reply from our shop
A striking mountain motif stands against a simple red field. Its graceful outline recalls Mount Fuji and brings a distinctive focal point to this Gabbeh.
