They say good fortune begins with a tidy entrance. To stop shoes being scattered around, I installed open shoe shelves and placed a Gabbeh in front instead of a step. Once we made a rule of putting shoes away every time, the entrance became remarkably tidier. I chose the rug for its exact size rather than its colours or motifs, and the proportions work beautifully.
