No.286

The Gabbeh arrived safely today. Thank you for arranging delivery, packing it carefully and answering even my small questions so sincerely. I let out a cheer when I opened it. Its understated colours, intricate plant motifs and smooth feel are wonderfully calming. The actual colours match the computer photographs, while changing depth under daylight and indoor lighting adds to their appeal. I had wondered whether the many motifs would feel too busy, but quickly became comfortable with them. It looks excellent beside the green Gabbeh I bought previously. Its generous size has extended our relaxing space. Even at around 15 mm thick, the dense weave means I do not feel the hard floor beneath. There is a slight moth-repellent smell at first, which I expect will fade with ventilation. Everyone in the family likes it, and our two-year-old son immediately lay down on it. Although buying without seeing it felt uncertain, this has been a wonderful purchase. Even if it means foregoing one holiday, enriching everyday life brings real happiness. I took lots of photographs; please use them in the review if helpful to others choosing a rug. I look forward to your website and new arrivals. Now I want to visit Iran even more. Thank you.

A reply from our shop
Seeing a rug settled into its new home brings both happiness and a little wistfulness when it was here with us only days before. The green Gabbeh beside it was featured in No. 153. Thank you for continuing to enjoy that one too.
