The rug arrived last week. I was surprised by its lightness and suppleness; it feels quite different from the wool rugs I have owned, with a soft, almost velvet-like touch. I was amazed to discover what silk woven at 1.21 million knots could feel like. I can only imagine the work involved. I photographed it in different orientations, and the light completely changes its expression—even from one side to the other. The colours are more vivid in person than on the website. It almost seems too precious to use on the floor, although finding the right place to display it on a wall could be difficult too.

We select finely woven Qom silk rugs. Many customers use them in a display alcove, in front of a side table, or as a wall hanging. Before placing one, consider how to protect it from light-related fading.
