No.265

Thank you for your help. The rug arrived safely today, and I immediately tried it in our entrance. What do you think? The size, colours and design are exactly as hoped, and I am delighted. I fell in love with the Tree of Life, animals and birds, especially the lively swimming goldfish. Hearing the stories behind these motifs over the phone helped me buy with confidence. We will treasure it. Thank you very much.

Placing a pictorial rug lengthways in an entrance lets the scene be viewed straight on, almost like a painting. This also works with small animal motifs. In a narrow entrance that continues into a hallway, a small rug placed crossways can feel rather lost. A lengthways arrangement gives it more presence and often balances the space better.
