It Feels More at Home Every Day / 2014-09-06
No.204
As our front door is reddish, I originally imagined a simple red mat, but was drawn to these unusual stripes and am glad I chose them. The entrance feels brighter and more cheerful, and visiting friends always notice the change. Unlike our earlier living-room Gabbeh, this one has no loose fibres so far, and I am enjoying the different texture. Is that because it is a Shekarlu? The living-room rug's colours and pile seem to have settled, perhaps because I vacuum the cat hair daily, and it feels more at home all the time. Our cat even carries food onto it and has brought up hairballs there, so I have wiped it with a damp cloth several times. So far, it has not stained. I continue to browse your website and look forward to shopping again.

Red striped Shekarlu entrance mat: Thank you for another photograph. The related red tones connect beautifully with the door and floor. Weaving varies from rug to rug, but denser weaves and shorter piles tend to shed less. An entrance mat is also smaller and usually receives only a step or two at a time, so the difference in friction may contribute.
