This exceptional 100% silk carpet was created by the renowned Samadi workshop of Qom, one of the most distinguished names in Persian silk weaving. Every aspect of the piece—the material, craftsmanship, composition and colour—has been executed to an outstanding standard. It is not merely a floor covering, but a true work of textile art. At the centre of the deep brown field is a magnificent medallion formed from multiple layers of finely articulated floral motifs. It is surrounded by elegant scrolling vines, abundant blossoms and pairs of delicately woven birds. Although the design is extraordinarily intricate, every element remains clearly defined, giving the composition remarkable balance, depth and visual order. The colour palette is equally impressive. Soft blue, salmon pink, warm gold, lavender and deep red are set against the dark ground, creating a refined contrast between richness and delicacy. Multiple borders frame the field with further floral ornamentation, leaving no area untreated and demonstrating the exceptional attention devoted to the entire carpet. The use of exceptionally fine silk allows even the smallest petals, leaves and feathers to be rendered with precision. As the light or viewing angle changes, the surface shifts in tone and the motifs appear to glow against the background—one of the defining qualities of a superior silk Qom carpet.
